Project Idea -

Instructions

  1. Dust off the vase with a dry hydra art sponge.
  2. Water down a half-dollar-sized puddle of Rawhide to a skim milk consistency.
  3. Apply 2 coats of the Rawhide wash to the outside of the vase using a fan brush.
  4. Carefully line the jukebox pattern up on the piece, then trace the design. Use your preferred transfer method: Clay Carbon, Saral Paper, Tissue Paper Transfer, etc.
  5. Use a #2 pencil to continue the design to the sides of the vase. Be sure to sketch lightly and dust off excess pencil residue.
  6. Use a round brush to drop/fill the outer tube light of the jukebox with Sunkissed.
  7. Paint the inner 2 tube lights with 2-3 coats of Cant-elope and Cutie Pie Coral. Be sure to continue painting the tube light colors on the sides of the vase.
  8. Paint the decorative trim on the base, sides, and around the speaker with 2-3 coats of Blue Isle.
  9. Fill in the top decorative design with the colors listed above starting with Blue Isle on the outer ring of the design.
  10. Paint inside the speaker design and glass with 2 coats of My Blue Heaven.
  11. Paint the song selection panel and other buttons with your choice of colors listed above.
  12. Once the speaker and glass are dry, you may have to re-sketch/trace the cross-hatching and record/music note designs back on.
  13. Paint the label of the record album with 2 coats of Cant-elope.
  14. Using Tuxedo and a detail liner brush, outline all of the decorative trim, song selection panel, and buttons.
  15. Use Tuxedo to paint in the cross hatching over the speaker, and the speaker hole. Apply 1-2 coats.
  16. Paint in the music notes and record album with 2 coats of Tuxedo.
  17. Add dashed detail lines on the song selection panel. Add dashed detail lines around the light tubes on the outside of the jukebox.
  18. Use a detail liner brush and My Blue Heaven, add highlights and detail marks to the tube lighting, record album, and decorative trim designs.
  19. Clear glaze and fire to Cone 06. Enjoy! (Tip: Be sure to roll the clear glaze inside of the vase for best coverage).
