Duncan Classics Slip Casting Molds

Slip-casting molds are specially made plaster molds used to form ceramic pieces by pouring liquid clay—called slip—into the hollow cavity of the mold. The plaster absorbs moisture from the slip, causing a layer of clay to build up along the mold walls. After the desired thickness is reached, the excess slip is poured out, leaving a hollow clay shape inside. Once the clay firms up enough to handle, the mold is opened and the piece is removed, ready for cleaning and firing. Slip-casting molds are ideal for producing consistent shapes, detailed designs, and multiple identical pieces, making them popular in both hobby and commercial ceramic production.
